The name isn’t very important, I suppose, but if you’re curious, I chose neuspeak.net as a play on Newspeak, which was the name of the language being imposed upon the proletariat in the world of George Orwells’s novel, “1984″. As a prominent theme in the book, the idea behind Newspeak was to control thought through the controlling of language. Orwell himself believed that just as the context and choice of words in a dialog are determined from the thought desired to be expressed, thought - in the first place - is a direct product of the language at one’s disposal. Hence, if the meanings of words are altered, or availability of words restricted, thought is likewise altered or restricted.
I will make no attempts to alter the thought of my readers, but I make no guarantees.
